Nonprofits rely on donations, especially from individuals, to support their vital mission work. Because of COVID-19, 71% of Florida nonprofits had a decrease in unrestricted income in 2020 and 69% raised less money in 202 than in 2019, making fundraising that much more important - and difficult.
Join us to take a look at charitable giving in Florida from 2011-2018. You’ll see trends in giving in Florida, understand how the tax code changes of 2017 affected giving, plus take a deep dive into donor activity in your county. We’ll examine total contributions, participation rates, number of donors, and average contributions for Hillsborough, Pinellas and Pasco counties.

Speaker Bio
Leah Donelan McDermott is the Program Manager for Florida Nonprofit Alliance. Leah has been working and volunteering in the nonprofit sector for 20 years. She specializes in helping organizations grow their capacity to meet their mission through training, leadership development, strategic thinking and planning, research and processes and procedures implementation. Leah conducts and facilitates trainings on various topics including board governance and engagement; advocacy; starting a nonprofit organization; and trends in the nonprofit sector, among others. She has served on Boards for organizations in various locations around the world. She has worked at the Nonprofit Center of Northeast Florida, American Cancer Society, the Alliance for World Class Education, and many other nonprofits in a consulting capacity.
